  1. Loving your photos! What's the name of that fuchsia? It's unusually subtle for a fuchsia.

  2. Very pretty. Love the ice on the fountain. That is ice right? the fern fronds are beautiful!

  3. Apel, that is normally a very 'fuchsia' fuchsia (I've posted pics of it before) but the freeze drained it of color; still beautiful though!

Michelle, yes there was quite the ice formation on the fountain (and the birds were STILL splashing in it, brrrr!)

  4. Sorry to see your pictures of frosty death.
It looks a lot worse here in my garden.
Only time will tell for some plants in regards to them coming back from the root stock while it is evident that some plants are completely dead.
I'm hoping that the rest of the winter won't be as deathly cold. ... a goil's garden has to keep up appearances ya know.

  5. Always surprises that you get any kind of frost at all in California.

    Beautiful pics. Love the fountain.

  6. Hi Michelle; these deaths don't have much sting, all but the coleus will return again; it's just sad to see my good friends go!

Yep, Sarah, we have just about every microclimate in CA except sub-Arctic (we'll leave that to you Canadians!) Glad you can appreciate this slightly grimmer beauty...

  7. Oh, too bad! Well, great photos, anyway. My CA poppies actually looked much the worse for wear after the frost, but I know they'll recover.

  8. Beautiful photos! It's very sad here now that we are starting to get a dusting of snow. Sad but pretty.
