As Simple As A Windowsill...

When days start getting shorter, and nights start getting colder,

I start to look for ways to keep the summer garden close.

Like cuttings from the courtyard, in simple green glass vases,

Gathered before winter comes, to lead the way to spring.

  1. Lovely. 'To lead the way to spring' -- wishing my road was as short as yours to get there.

  4. Thanks everyone! This is the window over my kitchen sink, and there's always some variation on this theme going on! A great place to bring in something to admire a little closer!

  10. What a lovely photo! I have a deep windowsill in my living room that's not too wide and gets plenty of sun - think I'll give your idea a try.

And hope my cat notices the vases there BEFORE he tries jumping up!

  12. Your window sill looks awesome. I would prefer to have cactus plants protruding into the interior of the room at the window providing a great window sill
